Shetland - Bressay, Noss, St Ninian's Isle and Old Scatness

We spent the morning on a wonderful boat trip, going from Lerwick round to the south of Bressay and thence to the Noup of Noss. Our skipper, Dr Jonathan Wills, was a positive mine of information on wildlife and much else besides, and he was ably assisted by Alan Longmuir (our host's brother). The Noss gannetry has to be seen to be believed. In the afternoon we walked across Britain's best example of a tombolo to St Ninian's Isle, followed by an interesting visit to Old Scatness broch and iron age house excavations.
