| A whole day in Wellington! We spent the morning at the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, and we could easily have spent the whole day there. It is just wonderful. We saw all sorts of extremely rare wildlife, including a saddleback, two tuataras, a giant weta, a kaka, and plenty of tuis and bellbirds. The volunteer guides were very good value. In the afternoon we went to Te Papa (the Museum of New Zealand), which is also excellent, and we capped off a splendid day with some first rate fish and chips in the Wellington Trawling Sea Market (in Cuba Street). |
